King of the Hill?

Post by Jez 356 »

Was 'King of the Hill' with Harry Hamlin ever put onto DVD?

This is a 356 racer who beat all comers in the hills in California, meant to be based on a true event ??? Correct me if I am wrong.

Great racing especially with the 356 but it has been cut about a bit!!

If it is on DVD let us know!!

Regards Jeremy

You mean 'King of the Mountain' I think, don't think it's on DVD which is a shame as I'd like to see it too.

Edit- correction it is on DVD :)

Edit no.2- correction to my correction bootleg DVDs no official release.

+1 on many of the above: Ronin, Transporter, 60secs, bullet, Le Mans, D.Bell in-car 956, etc

Spy game & the Alex Cross films are really cameos with not much action (like the films tho).

Non-porsche but the original French version of Taxi (1&2) is quite fun/ silly. The american remake was truely dreadful.

'Two Lane Blacktop', and, more topically, Liz Taylor looks fabulous in an Alpine in 'Butterfield 8', the film she won an Oscar for.

Point break has a 356 driven by Lori Petty, another Robert Redford one is Sneakers again a 356.
What does Arnie flip back over in Commando, think its a yellow 911.

That database has spoilt it now.
How about movies in which the car is a star?
So avoiding the obvious ones such as back to the future and the italian job what can you come up with.
For starters Dodge Charger in the Blade movies

There's also the original Thomas Crown Affair with Steve McQueen and Faye Dunnaway. No Porsches, but a lovely Rolls as well as McQueen's beach buggy. Apparently it had a Chevrolet Corvair motor. I may risk being shot down in flames here, but Dunnaway's character drives a gorgeous Ferrari too ....

Funny, this weekend I saw on youtube that the Noisettes video for 'Never forget you' has a speedster rep playing a big part, although Shingai just lounges about in it, and puts her big silver dockers on the upholstery...tsk

Also worth a look for her fab mad bass guitar though.

Cant post a link as I'm at work..
Cheers, Johnny

Transporter 3, Spiderman show NY.

Post by Jasper »

Just got transporter 3, good driving in it, also the Bourne Identity.
Just seen Spiderman in NY,( hence no photos or comments) great show, don't know if it will come across the pond, because of all the accidents from the flying stunts.

"The Quiller Memorandum" has George Segal driving around Berlin in a 356...and it's on on Tuesday, I think.
