Interested to hear you are using Thunderbird. I'm going on holidays for a few weeks tomorrow, and have been toying with the idea of making the change myself while I have some time on my hands. Everything I've read sounds good, and I particularly want to be able to bring all my files over from my current (Eudora).

My main issue is that I send and receive a lot of emails in Japanese, so it has to be a system that supports Japanese characters. I'm told Thunderbird does. So it is looking more and more like the one.

Always better to have a view from someone with actual user experience - any further thoughts you have would be much appreciated.

Cheers

I find Thunderbird just much simpler and intuitive to use than Outlook, having said that I just use it at home simply for emails and have no need of any other features it may offer. Having said that one feature I do like is that it recognises words like 'attachment' and 'file' and then suggests if you like to attach a file, just in case you forget. I do you use MS Outlook at work, not by choice, but again I use it solely for emails and nothing like diary keeping, reminders, etc so can't comment how good on is from the other in these areas.

I would at least try Thunderbird, you can install it and provided you keep all your PST file from Outlook you can always revert back if you don't like.
