Restoration of a RHD 2.2S

Few more bits finished today. The gear stick was stripped and all parts either plated, chromed or powder coated.

Front hubs also now back together, new discs, bearings etc. The hubs were clean vapoured blasted and protected before being rebuilt.

The RHD 2.2S is now fully painted, so things have progressed. Here are some pics taken today.

and in the workshop, next to another RHD 911 we are restoring, (68 T)

Now the refit begins all be it in between other works!

Amazing detail and lovely work.

Will this car have any original part that hasn't been painted, plated, coated etc. ------ i.e. will it in essence be a 'new' car.

It will be a shame to have to get it dirty !

Great showcase of your capabilities though.

Hi,

A little more progress to add on this restoration.
NOS, correct 2.2 S front oil cooler fitted

We made new engine MFI linkage arms. After market ones are steel while the original throttle body rods are ally with ally nuts, so we even made new right and left hand ally nuts.

Dash slowly coming together. All refurb'ed.

Anyway, as of today the refit is at this stage

Breathtaking detail.

NOS oil cooler...just where do these things turn up?

Love the detail to make alloy links and not 'cheat' with plated steel.

For me it would be so hard to use this car when done, but what a beauty.

I have a few more detail pics of the car as we managed to get some time on it over the last few days.

Almost ready to come off the fit-up frame, rear wheels with new 185/70 CN36 go on

Few details pics, tank in but wiring still to finish

Hi,

Maybe a bit to much detail? eg rebuilding the glove box today I thought the glove box lock surround and locking screw looked old.... so by the end of the day they were re-chromed!
