Donegal Rally next outing for shark !

Post by Cortina »

Busy getting organised / prepared for Donegal - this weekend will see two days of pace note making over the stages. Next weekend the event (for Historic cars) is on Sat and Sunday - currently 3 Porsches entered (2 911's and myself).
Hoping to get a camera in the car for this one ... hmm.........
Royal Enfield .. still in India
GL 1800 Tour DCT, for pleasure / Fantic 240 Professional - play
Rally 911 (1966) build parked for a while
Rally 928 (work started again - inc serious weight loss programe !)
.... and now another VW Up GTI owner.

Cool. Good luck. Looks like we'll be rallying at the same time. I'll be in the Mid Wales Stages on the Sunday. I'm also going to fit an in car camera.

Let's have a competition - he who scalps the most escorts wins :P

Go for it :headbang:

Sad end to the weekend - Competitor died as a result of bad accident on SS11 which should have been our first stage , event aborted !

Yeah I heard about that... such a shame. I lost a friend of mine, Martyn Lewis, competing in his Nova on an event a week ago. Really nice guy who will be sorely missed by a lot of people. Reminds us all it's a dangerous game :(

On a more positive note, managed to get my first finish of the season this weekend just gone, on the Mid Wales Stages. Had no major issues apart from a loss of power on the last few stages due to dust clogging up the air filters, but as I was going for a finish rather than anything else I could live with it till the end. At one point I was 1 second off 3rd in class, but then backed off on the last few stages to ensure I got a finish some my seeding didn't get any worse.

Next event is the Ulster in August, are you still going to be out of the country then?

Yip , will be travelling back from Brazil as the Ulster starts !
Might get to see a stage on the last day ... but unlikely.
If you are here the following day , I may be able to offer you a coffee / food / sniff round my mechanical babies , on route to the boat ... or whatever .......... just fire me a pm. Good luck and make sure your gearbox / drive train is in perfect nick before this one .... trust me !!!
