Just the lighting conditions, I'd suggest.Ozzy Pete wrote:Tangerine but it looks more red to me
Same car looking very orange (although three years earlier so there could have been a respray, I guess):

Hi all Interesting site that I have been comparing paint colours of the era, my bet would be tangerine and I agree those early colours change a lot under different light conditions, as my signal yellow S can look like orange at sunset and bright yellow in the morning http://www.elferhelfer.de/farben.htm

I agree with that, my Olympic Blau car looks green in certain lights!!Ozzy Pete wrote:Hi all Interesting site that I have been comparing paint colours of the era, my bet would be tangerine and I agree those early colours change a lot under different light conditions, as my signal yellow S can look like orange at sunset and bright yellow in the morning http://www.elferhelfer.de/farben.htm
Looking at that site, I love the Royal Purple in 1973
It is Tangerine. So is mine, and I have dozens of photos taken of it in different light and it can look like anything between bright red and pale pink. It is an odd color photographically. But to my mind, there is no doubt it is tangerine. I guess the color code changes from year model to year model, but in 1967 it was 2002 (L - for the paint maker).
