Was browsing through some vid clips on youtube of the rally of mallorca, and saw this viper green 911 with British plates wondered if it was a DDK members?
The green Porsche I believe was Sean Lockyear who has an entry for 2010. This event is similar to events such as Boucles de Spa where they have two categories, competition, where the average speed is set to 80km/h and regularity where the average speed is set to 50km/h. The big difference to UK events is that the can close the roads. Boucles de Spa has an added ingredient in that the roads are often snow covered. The cars on the You Tube video were in the competition category.
Noise does not seem an issue unlike the UK!!
Wonderfull sites and sound. Now how about a holiday in Mallorca next March!

Thanks for the info, on the car and rally, i will be watching this in the flesh in 2010 as i'm moving to the island
I would love to enter it but that's a couple of years off have to find and restore the car yet
Yes the guy who posted the video clip on youtube has a multitude of porsche clips from several years of this rally including 356's, 911's, 914/6 etc well worth looking up his others. Here's his profile
The group b cars were fantastic, and what a sound track, but also did you see the escort at the max, quite something to see.
According to the 2010 entry list the car on Piston Heads is the one he is down to use. He won Tour Brittannia in another car a 911 3.0RS (yellow) which I belive is also up for sale. Quite possible the car in the video was sold.

Would love to see it, i'm leaning towards a 1970 "S" (year i was born) or a 356 for my resto project, but the 70' "S" seems to be a bit thin on the ground.
Just when you thought it couldn't get any better a Group B SWB quattro and an 037 make an entrance!
The Group B cars were courtesy of Slowly Sideways, organized, I believe, in this case by Rob Whitehouse (in the dark blue 037) who lives there. I hope to be joining them in 2010, but probably not in Mallorca as it's so early in the year, but I will be at WRC Rally Germany and Catalunya.
