1958 356 motor

Post by woolie »

i have available to me a 1958 356 A motor,
P*70439
Zenith 32 NDIX
Bosch BR18 dissy
it has almost all tinware, front and rears are missing. I am told it was a runner but i haven't heard it run. It doesn't look like it has run in a long time. It is a 58 motor with the odd little oil thermostat on the side. it has compression when turned by hand.

If you are buying from the UK i can ship for you for free (i am shipping a westy back in december and i can put it inside) you would just need to arrange collection from the Midlands once it gets over.

i have pictures i can send by email.

$3500 or best offer my US number is 213 422 9880 (remember the time difference)

oh Rats.

if this had come up about 8 weeks ago i would have bitten your hand off for it. but, now Andy Prills nearly finished re-building the (356c) engine that came with our 1958 356a.

mind you to be totally correct it would need to be a "super" engine for my car and this is a standard.

still tempted to get it as a spare...............ummm!

very true.

but, after much debate about this we have decided not to fill the shed up again with "just in case" parts.
