912 resto project wanted

Post by twtony »

Hi All!

Thanks to Marcus for pointing me in the direction of this fantastic site!

Had to sell my '67 912 a couple of years back (reg NAL 182E, anyone know of it's wherabouts?) and am on the lookout for a resto project, absolutely anything considered

Please get in touch if you think there's anything out there for me!

Was it bright yellow with a knackered engine and do you live just north of Birmigham?
If yes I bought the car from you but all the records have been passed on so although I know it was NAL i cannot remember the numbers.
I rebuilt the engine and my son used the car for over a year and had a lot of pleasure out of it. I stipped it down to restore but time got the better of me. A couple of guys based in Cardiff who were into restoring cars bought it and they have told me it has now been fully restored at great expense and is in fabulous condition. I hope to meet up with them in a few weeks time at the Tredegar classic car show when I will be able to confirm.
If I am right i will take some pics and send them to you just for you to see what might have been.
I have since moved on to a couple of 356's and an old 911 so am still keeping the faith.
Good luck with your search they are certainly great cars and much underated.
Regards

may also be worth trying 912 register forum too.

Peter - did the 912 go to a guy in Radyr - I haven't seen it around - maybe catch up with them at Tredegar Park show (my '12 is going to be on the PCGB stand)

Hi Ian.
Not sure exactly where they are. One was from Cardiff and the other from Pontrhydyfen. They have a fabulous e type and a number of military vehicles. Dont think they use them much just enjoy restoring them and taking them to shows.
Hope to be at Tredegar in my 356. If you want to see my other 356 cab, nip down to Motivation in Bridgend. They have repaired it after my bonnet up incident and they have done a fabulous job.
Hope to see you on the 20th
