IDE HDD Recovery.. HELP!!

Post by smallspeed »

Hoping someone here can help.. Just had a great holiday but on the return had a blow-out, lost a chunk of my front bumper, and when I got home the hdd in my server had died! I brought a new hdd to back it upto and migrate to but didn't get it done before I went away (typical; do it when I get back)

anyway the hdd seems to be dead (STD 3.5" IDE hdd but with Ext3 format). It contains about 350mb of media which I can't afford to loose but I have no experience recovering a dead IDE hdd..

Anyone here offer any advice or assistance before I head back to France, live in a hole, and drive a 2cv to avoid all these hassles.. :(

I have used these people to recover data for clients http://www.datarecoverydirect.co.uk/ and they have proved very successful. HTH
