Google Chrome browser - Porsche Theme

Post by mullerice »

Was just looking at themes for the Google Chrome browser, and spotted at the top of the list, this Porsche theme. I believe it's an official theme and if you ignore the Panamera to the right, it's quite cool. It's also a nice (slate?) grey colour which I prefer to the normal blue.

I also saw that today - there must be a way of finding the image that is displayed and scrubbing out the panamera
The simple things you see are all complicated

Having just installed the theme and doing a search on files created today the background image seems to be contained in (deep breath)

C:\Documents and Settings\<USERNAME>\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Extensions\<GOBBLEDEEGOOK>\3\i

For GOBBLEDEEGOOK read gkclphmapgcppbmekmbkcjfanpmoidpg but that could well be random!

Background file is 1067kb & named (wait for it, wait for it) agxjaHJvbWV0aGVtZXNyDAsSBEZpbGUYtOYFDA without any extension. I edited the filename added a .png extension & it opened fine. At this point I lost the will to live so somebody else will have to do the photoshopping :D
I've hosted a copy of the background file with a half sensible name HERE if anyone wants to 'shop it.

thank-you. have downloaded it and its much quicker than firefox but it hasn't got a tool bar or anything to work from so not sure how to use it.

i asked it to download all the bookmarks from firefox but it only did DDK & facebook. so i've gone back to using firefox as at least i can find what i want.
