I too am one of them Creative pounces,

I Blagged my way onto a Graphic Design/Multi-media Degree without even an A Level or a decent GSCE 10 years ago, then went on to beat all the real Graphic Designers at their own game and get the best mark's the Uni had ever had on that course.

Started the day after I left for a large Ad Agency, then moved to a Graphic Design Consultancy, stayed there for till I made it to Senior.

Then I was offered a dream CR role at a really large agency, took it and quite after 4 months. Worked for them 16 plus hours a day, 7 days a week, never really ate, saw my first born 15 min a day, and had to sink quite a bit of JD in order to sleep at night.

That was a nearly a year ago, since then, I have become a University Lecture (part time) and set up, what I hope to be a future for my 3 son's in WE ARE LEVEL.

I currently have no Porsche, but I have learnt, that I was a fool to chase the money and title, I have seen my boys grow and learn, put them to bed more often than not, played in the snow with them, eaten well, slept well (can you really ever with 3 boys?), ridden my bike, surfed and skated way more in the past year than in the last 10, kept up with friends and made great new ones.

That to me is worth way more than a fat paycheck. Lesson learnt!

I now site here, in my studio, with tee's, stickers, pads, skateboards, snowboards, posters, mags and books, silk screen, inks and stencils all around me, I have a really nice cup of coffee and a big fat smile on my face!

Not guilty melud. I was into my Materials Management stint when this remarkable "side effect" of an anti-hypertensive candidate was discovered.
However, knowing that it is Sildenafil citrate suggests a certain knowledge of the product on your part methinks?

Did a feature on the Ringaskiddy factory just outside Cork when the story broke years ago. It was Pfizer's main production centre outside of the US at the time.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it...
cheers, Mike.

Yes I have visited Ringaskiddy a number of times. Lovely people and very beautiful countryside/coastline around and about.
I was there one time in October in a taxi going to the plant and it started to rain quite heavily. The cab driver said in a very weary and resigned way, "it's started raining, that's it till next May then"

I was at a planning meeting in Southern Ireland when the Viagra sales were just taking off. The plant in Italy manufactured the finished packs for the whole of Europe and I recall the Italian Materials Manager saying "demand is so high we are having trouble keeping up but none of it is for the Italian market of course!"

The highest selling drug in history that no-one has admitted to taking!

Pounding headaches - um, apparently, so my mate says? Up for ages - er, so he reckons!

I go to Dahab in Egypt windsurfing every year, and inevitably go down with some kind of stomach trouble. A quick visit to the chemist asking -"Have you got anything for a stomach bug please?"

"Yes - Viagra!"

Everytime, whatever the problem he offers the same solution - "I give you good price!"

Dirk.

Got a Materials Engineering degree from Swansea Uni in 1978, but as soon as I graduated managed to get selected for the only thing I'd ever wanted to do - RAF aircrew. Managed to somehow feck that up & didn't manage to complete training. Tried to make use of my degree by going into QC in industry, but it was the start of the great contraction in the manufacturing sector in South Wales. Ended up in Government IT & hated every minute of it. Took voluntary redundancy when our department was privatised in 1994, bummed around in various dead end jobs before ending up back in the civil service. Became ill in 2004 & this became so bad that I was medically retired (without even asking!) in 2008. Now not fit enough to work, but my 'pension' is nowhere near enough to run a push bike, let alone a Porsche!

Only thing I'm even fairly good at now is building scale models. Anyone want a bespoke 1/24 scale plastic replica of their pride & joy made??!!

Keith
