What a stunning weekend and what brilliant roads.
Big thanks to James for organizing it all and Vicki for the hotel and meal.
Also to Barry for being so brilliant and helpful and fixing my indicators.

I did the whole run on Sunday although I did the loop from west to east as I missed the first turn off. I followed a number of groups at various times but got a bit bored following cars and went off piste and learnt how to read a map again although at first I followed the angel sat nav which led me round in circles.
I notice there are no snaps of the really nice section of roads on Saturday - I guess the camera person was concentrating on something else.

I think I might have discovered how to get pictures up to photobucket - send them to email via picasa first and only upload the shrunk files and then use the bulk upload. So these snap might lack definition.

On the way up I found James (and Peter)

lost the plot by now

the obligatory viaduct

somewhere in the dales

I like this one - maybe I should spray it green and call it kermit
Image
I got dropped off jp's group early on when I incorrectly believed the sat nav and had to fend for myself again - then I found another group to follow which looks like Gav and Will not sure who was at the front but a yellow car I think. Again I lost them when I went down a lane that seemed to be going roughly the right direction
Image
... and after a brief fast spell I caught up with jp's group and Mike again which in turn caught up with Tim.

then off piste again and round the loop the wrong way
Image
some of these roads would be fantastic without traffic
Image
and indeed the bit after Sleigh was traffic free apart from Chris (jury)
who followed me down a shortcut in Sleigh to avoid a traffic jam
and eventually to the East coast
Image
All in all a fantastic trip and I even revised my opinion of the M1 which proved to be a lot better than I expected

What an excellent weekend, thanks so much to all involved. What a decent gang of folk..although was I alone in thinking that Helen was a touch overdressed for the Hardknott..?

We had a great time and met friends old and new. Will post pics when I get chance.

I also learnt not to try and keep up with James C, Sladey, Ian W, MarkM or Tom.

Thanks to all involved for organising this.

Fantastic weekend. Many thanks to James for all his hard work, Vicky for managing to organise a meal for such a maverick rabble, everyone for turning up and making it so enjoyable. Just a few pics. Seem to have spent quite alot of time positioned behind Sladey Phnarr. Phnarr.

Peter must have been driving very slowly as we were obviously obeying the speed limit

Two fantastic cars in the best colour, but if you look at the road behind you will see one of the hazards encountered over the weekend, slighty more numerous than sheep. Generally even if their bikes weren't on your side of the road, then their heads were.

it proved too nerve wrecking watching Johnny driving my car up the wrong side of the road while the photographer took pictures

so we left them to it and went off on our own for the rest of the day.

it seems the media attention was a little to much for some

What a super weekend it was, with fantastic weather and excellent company 8)
Thanks James for a most useful tourist guide and the extensive organising you did pre trip.
Many of my pics mirror others, so I'll just attach a few.
We took a bit of vid on the passes, so if that proves entertaining I shall post it too.

*cough* bullsh*t

I followed these guys to the finish, and then to York on the way home and we never went above 60 the whole time...

One particularly memorable overtake trying to keep up (sorry Johnny!) was a committed moment..

What a weekend!
I had (and dad) a fantastic time on my first DDK roadtrip, great people, great cars and great roads. Big thanks to James for the organisation and some inspired route planning!
We had to leave Ravenscar soon after arriving, but I look forward to meeting up with everyone again soon.....

(Tried attaching some video, hopefully it works)

Thanks
Chris
