No to Shelsley until I'm sure of the gear change. Having no lever gate is very strangle to handle, but yesterday I could only get 2nd and after work in the pits 3rd a few times on the move.
Matt:
The car is stunningly agaile, and very neutral.
On those old slicks the rear will break loose easy in the damp and the oversteer is instant to catch and progress after.
Mid engines rock!
Brakes seem balanced (luck) and the clutch still a pain to clear, though better as the day went on.
There are a lot of things to get used to.
I feel a great sense of relief. Nothing has broken or bent and my welds have held!
2009 will be the development year and I'll hire Curb again in Aug to get better when other things are done.
Long way to go on this journey, but feeling far better than 2 weeks ago when i was well naffed-off with the thing.
Late entry at Shelsley? You must be kidding!

Loton - "We don't do late entries!"
Shelsley - "I don't see why not"
Have fun!

Ha!
That is down to:
Loton: Tony Fletcher
Shelsley: Roger Thomas!
The gearchange is now rid of all free play and modified to give a gate control to the 1 to 4 H pattern.
This car in 3rd is awsome, you must have found the same?
Until I can get gears I'm sticking to Loton.
Have entered the rest of the year's A's
Realy starting to get my head around the car now and tuning it for a Good One next season.

Yes - the Nomad was great in 3rd as well, half the weight of a 911 and better aero helps! It was a bit difficult to use it to the full in a strange car at Prescott..............
See you in August at Loton. I'll see if Terry can make it as well - can you wangle a camping ticket for him, please?
Cheers!

That's great. I wasn't sure if Tony would issue camping tickets to non-competitors.........
See you then!

You know him too well, MrB! But be careful, he has been photographed in front of one of those new-fangled PC things in his office celebrating 400 years in motorsport, so he may be looking in.............................
