I've used Hagerty for years.
Just so you know, companies like Hagerty are not insurance companies, but brokers that package our low-risk policies and bundle them for a larger concern (like LoL). Hagerty is merely a service agent. A damn good one at that.
When I wrecked my trailer with the Porsche in it http://cardomain.com/ride/340096/5 they were right there for me and paid off handsomely with no fuss.
Well, just a little fuss, as they initially didn't want to paint the whole car. They wanted to blend two-stage over the original lacquer. I showed them the error of their ways and they paid to strip the entire car and build up a new paint job.
I now insure some limited-use vehicles with them. I still have my '88 750iL that I use occasionally during the summer. Regular insurance was $1,250 annually. Hagerty was only $250 for the same coverage. They cover my boat, too.

Hi, I used to insure all my classic and modern cars with Footman James for many years. My MG Midget was rally prepared and highly modified which seemed no problem nor was my Subaru road car. When I came to insure the 911 RS Replica they did not want to even quote. It seemed the roll cage put them off even though the engine is standard. I tried one of the insurers that advertise here and they quoted a silly four figure premium. I have to add I have an accident free record.
I ended up with Richard Egger Insurance who sponsor the HRCR clubman events. Their cover includes regularity events both in UK and Europe. I paid a small additional premium for this. I have in fact taken a "family" policy out as this will cover both road cars and the Porsche and it has saved me a lot of money over three cars.

I was with AON and had to make a claim (wrote off my TVR due to suspension failure) They paid out no prob and gave me the scrap for free, which was a bonus, I made another £1500 breaking and selling it.
However, when I came to renew with just my Beetle the premium went from £80 to nearly £300 (just for the Beetle) so I switched to Hagerty who have been excellent. Luckily I havent had to claim. I pay £185 for the 914 and Beetle.

I've used F-J since 1999 and had no issues...even with a full roll cage installed in the Imp!
Covers me for all rallies on public roads, UK and Europe. Unlimited mileage.
£145.
Never been able to get anywhere near this premium from anyone else! (But been driving cars and lorries since 1962)

Which is best for multi vehicle policies? I have a dozen or so cars to re-insure, I had been going through BLM for years excellent people to deal with, but they soldout/taken over by/joined Towergate a couple of years ago---different story, don't seem to give a shite. We are covered by Equity Red Star. At a cost of nearly £1500 (which probably doesn't sound too bad considering the amount of cars)
Both me and 'tother half are in late 50's , been driving since god was aboy, mrs had one claim some 8-10years ago when a numptie drove in the back of her, other than that we are a great risk.
Who do we go to?
We want full agreed value on all cars, one is highly modified, only 1 is in regular everyday use--anyway I can only drive one at a time.
Cheers
