Just to explain this:

Look at the RH rear damper/spring coilover. There is a shaft just to the left of it coming from the rh front of the car. It is the gear shift rod from the shift lever.
That shaft connects via 2 UJ's to the side shaft on the box.
That shaft in turn runs in 2 rose joints and then has the parallel linkage to the original 911 input shaft.

Everything was made adjustable to allow the optimum position.

It works really well and is very direct.

Terry's rear anti-roll bar mountings were firmly attached to the body, whereas mine at Shelsley Classic were $&@99ed.

Made for a great photo or two though...........

The brief history is:

Terry Davidson (Chairman of the Porsche club in the early 90's) bought a Nomad sports racer, one of 3 made in Oz.

The car had I think a Climax V8 in it, but I think Terry bought the car with a Ford V6 in the middle.

The Nomad had the flat 6 3.2 fitted and raced it in that form till about a year ago when Terry sold the car as a roller to a guy with a Climax V8!

Terry called his team Stoic, but i have no idea if he was connected to the '911 team' you show. I have an email address for Terry.

Graham.

Hi Mike,

Yes, it's one of John Piper's Nomads. He owned 2 of the three ever made. Terry Davison was a great friend of John's, and bought this car a long time ago, I would think before John died. It originally had a Ford V6 when Terry bought it, but it was a continuous heap of trouble! He then had Crispin Manners fit the 3.2 Carrera engine and box, and he raced it all over Europe, and even to Oz for the Grand Prix support race one year. The car has now been sold to someone who is going to install the correct BRM engine and gearbox, and hopes to be at Classic LeMans with it next year.

Since John's death, Terry has kept the Stoic Racing name going. For more info, have a look at www.stoic.co.uk/racing

Drop me a PM if you want more info, or to contact Terry.

Cheers! :drunken:
