Googled Winston who it turns out is registrar of the Fraser Nash Club, given the AFN Porsche connection it had to be a Fraser Nash - interesting that they appear to have raided the Porsche parts bins.

On closer examination it looks to me like the whole centre section is a 356A with new front and rear clips grafted on - I wonder what Porsche would have said if it had gone into production.
Hopefully Winston can give us the full history ?

It is... problem solved.
Whilst searching for this bugger, it's surprising how many past coachbuilders used or based their profile on the 356 roof section as soon as the A screen came out. Proof of it's perfect proportions I guess...

Well done Barrie. I will post the whole story later when i've had historical chapter and verse from our (FNCC) post war Registrar, but in a nutshell it was built in 1957 using much of the centre section of a 356 as a prototype and displayed at that years motor show on the AFN stand. It was also shown at the '58 show with a few detail revisions but remained unique and turned out to be the last Frazer Nash built. I was able to examine it closely when it came in to my works for a complete rewire and is completely unmolested and original apart from the paint. Comparing it to my '61 B it seems to use the roof and doors, though modified, the a posts, screen surround and scuttle panel with wiper bosses, outer sill but not the floor or bulkheads, front or rear, not sure about the rear window and its surround. It has a lot of filler under the paint so deciding where and how Peels of Kingston mated the steel Porsche panelwork to the Frazer Nash ali body was impossible. The car is now back on the road following an impact with a deer and is in enthusiastic private hands. I snapped it at The Pom at Silverstone a couple of weeks back. If this sort of thing interests any of you then 'From Chain Drive to Turbocharger' the AFN story by Dennis 'Jenks' Jenkinson is compulsory reading.
