How does it match up to what you want.

Thanks for the tip. I will take a look at it. My budget is GBP 30k max (would like to be able to spend a little bit more but with a very "lean" bonus and this economy, stretching is not an option)
Then maybe consider an 'E' ?

Looks like a perfect match. If I had a solid actual buying budget of 30, then I would certainly be looking at cars advertised higher than that (certainly up to 35, maybe higher). Nick's is up for 32,500....

Thanks. I will certainly take a good look at Nick's. I have asked a more knowledgable friend to give him a call to discuss the body etc.

A fellow Carrera 3 owner is selling his original Belgian 2.4E. It's obviously still in Belgium, it was silver metallic and with a black interior. external oil flap model, off the road since 1985 and a previous owner tried to convert it to an impact bumper model.

Chassisnummer 9112200326.
- 6x15 fuchs velgen
- fog lights in the grilles

Thanks for the lead but I am definitely looking for a car that I can drive immediately. A major project is well beyond my skill set.

Hi there - nothing to do with me but I use the same mechanic on my 911T that did a comprehensive bodywork restoration and re-spray etc on this LHD 911S (ex Italy). It looked great when I saw it!

Now - I may be speaking out of turn but - I understand the owner's personal circumstances have changed somewhat and he can no longer keep the car - I think it is also lacking service history - it has also been for sale for a long time - and I think it may be a very good opportunity for someone !!

Good luck
Sean

Thanks. I have had one discussion with RPM on this 2.4S. They are supposted to send detailed pictures when they got the car back. To date I have not heard anything further.

Good morning -

That's not very helpful is it ?!!
As I say - it looked great to me - the bodywork is immaculate as can be seen in the 911 & Porsche World article. I recall the interior is "Light Weight" style with replacement seats from, I think, Mark Waring. It looked good - if in need of a clean up). RPM should have done this by now.
Don't know about the mechanicals though.

Mike Holloway undertook the body restoration of this car - he is a straight talking Porsche man ! I recall he said the car was very strong and fast ( I did briefly consider the car myself - but LHD and too expensive for me i'm afraid !!)

I'm sure Mike will give you an honest run down of what was done etc.

His number is - 01494 776 911.

I also live near to RPM - and would be happy to have a look at it for you - might even wrangle a test drive

I just had a long conversation with Mike. Terrific guy and very helpful. It sounds like a very honest 2.4S but still a bit over budget.

After further thought and financial analysis, Nick's is really the only option. Initially I was planning to buy it as an additional car but given how things are developing, have decided that I will need to sell my Maserati Gransport first.

Hopefully that will not take to long and Nick's 911 2.4S will still be available.

Unfortunately you are now too late. I think Nick's car was a great buy. I saw it in France last year and it looked perfect to me. Not restored. Nice patina and some nice colour combinations going on. Nick said at the time the mechanicals were very strong. I also have a thing about ex Italian delivered cars. I think you have missed a great opportunity.

Keep looking. Best of luck.

Regards
Mike

I saw that yesterday and thought that it looked the same, then checked early 911.co.uk and saw that the car wasnt for sale any more.

interesting change in price though:

65,000 Euro = 57,506.2 British Pound

65,000 British Pound (GBP) = 73,470.4 Euro (EUR)

Interbank rate +/- %

This means:
You buy 65,000 Euro : 57,506.2 British Pound
You sell 65,000 Euro : 57,480.8 British Pound
You buy 65,000 British Pound : 73,470.4 Euro
You sell 65,000 British Pound : 73,502.8 Euro

Median price = 0.88432 / 0.88471 (bid/ask)
Minimum price = 0.87971 / 0.88004
Maximum price = 0.89192 / 0.89221

Yep, I'd say so too. It was a good car. A bit scruffy but sound and original.

Hmmm, yes, well just shows the Italian dealer must have thought Nick's price was keen.
I bet if you'd snapped it up direct from Nick you could have had it restored, re-trimmed and re-painted for that sort of money.

Not sure those Metallic Green 2.4S's are as rare as the Italian dealer claims though.

In this economy, I think the Italian dealer will own that 2.4S for quite some time.
