Bootsy, I'll try to dig out or take some snaps. The valance is bolted up directly to the front wing lower flange. I used P section trim between to seal it and detail the gap.
You will note how much tighter this is than using the standard rubber, I used M6 screws with nyloc nuts and nylon washers to clamp evenly on the rough GRP surface of the valance.
I have yet to make some alloy stays to prevent vibration of the valance wheel arch apeture lower edge. These will fix with alloy riv nuts from the inner wing.

SEATS FINALLY

Post by haasad »

I picked up my seat shells from 904GTS yesterday. ( What a nice guy)

I bought bare moulded shells ST style. ( see my wanted post for old headrests)

I'll post a couple of snaps tonite. I know it may seem odd since by the time I've sorted padding and trimming they may :?: be as dear as the GTS offering. But this way suits my cashflow and stays true to my DIY outlook.

Theyer even quite confortable with no trim at all :?

By the way, thanks for the description, it did help. Bumper has been offered up, trial fitted and is now preped and awaiting paint next week.

Glad my description helped. Would you still like some snaps while I have a camera out?

Seats

Post by haasad »

Here are the shells I bought. At least I can now get the position right and make the brackets and it saves stressing over spoiling new upholstery.

Still need some headrests to work with ... the ones in the wifes golf look kinda nice....

Seats look great, seems a shame to cover them. How about novel lounge chairs? :)
