today decied to do a bit on the 912 first was to disconect the wiring around the engine bay , and macking sure it s all stowed away in a plastic bags taped up and left to hang to one side , spent 2 3 hours scrapping old under seal from all the nocks cranny s , then doing the same with different sizes of wire brushes on a drill , when bare i blew everything done and applyed some 182 zinc primer making sure plenty went on all the seams , when dry i piy a fine bead of good quality seam sealer around the joint and any water traps wet my finger around it round the beads to get a nice smooth finish and make sure it went it to were it should go have a noisey , i then trail fitted the new rear shelf so now i no where i have to cut and trimm owen nw

it all together makes for easier welding . i then seam welded the bottom edge and plugged the rest . i had to drill out all the welds that hold the clips that hold the suit case strapps on the rear shelf and then weld them on to , also the engine hindge brackets and the engine stay bracket ., first closing the engine lid down so it could check where evrything went and lined up . with this done i sanded down the 2 quarter panels and most of the engine lid , taking of the old rattle can primer , and was well pleased with what lay under owen wn
