Help with purchasing...2.7 RS recreation?

Post by gridgway »

I am looking at an RS recreation from another DDK'er that I am enamoured with (the car that is!), but I know my limitations. Ie I don't know enough to objectively inspect a potential purchase. It's currently on the south coast, are there any recommendations of someone I could get to inspect the car?

Thanks
Graham

Have you spoken to Alan UK? His outfit is Poole.

Suspect there's a number of guys here who can guide you on what to look for. Think the most common ID of a good recreation (depending how authentic you want it to be) is the rear wheel arches - a lot have SC arches rather than RS ones which are tappered around the rims.

Sure other more knowledgable folk will chime in. Mike (with the RSR recreation could give you more detail then you could shake a stick at!)

The arches thing is correct, but decide if that's important to you or not - I would say other stuff like mechanical and body condition will be more important
The simple things you see are all complicated
I look pretty young but I'm just backdated yeah

Well , Dave sold me my previous early 911 . I can say the following.
He's honest and knowledgable and didn't try to hide anything from me.
Good luck

If were getting picky, i think there should of been an ! in your sentence as i didnt see a question in it. Sorry if i offended you... my observation was that Dave in his time has done a lot of Nicks paint work although i know Nick now has his own superb body shop and that i believe "correct me Barry if im wrong" Barry did his apprenticeship with Dave "tongue in cheek" That was all, Gra
