Got back on Sunday afternoon having had a superb weekend :)

Friday started with a great drive up to our B&B near Culzean followed by a very entertaining evening in the local pub with Mike, Rhona, Larry & Helen .... havn't laughed so much for ages ;)

Saturday was spent mostly enjoying Culzean castle + cheering on Jonny & Brendan in the autotests :) . Saturday was also one of the only times you'll see me wearing a tie ;) It was great to catch up with Ian & Charlotte too, who put some real effort in to travel all that way with George :)

Huge thanks to Mike ( 210bhp) for his hospitality Saturday night when he entertained us all at his place with copious amounts of beer / wine / water & so much food :)

We had a quick return to the show on Sunday & then took the scenic route home.

Me & Jo liked Culzean Castle so much we're going back this weekend but his time bringing our daughters :)

Some photos :

A great weekend, and what a totally sound bunch of people, just sorry I didnt get to spend more time with you all. Mike and Rhona, consumate hosts, and what a navigator Brendan turned out to be. :notworthy:

Need to sort out what photos/vids I have and post up again. But here's a couple of young chaps having a gay old time..we were still speaking as, at that point, he hadn't revealed his terrible flaw..

Great weekend with the DDK crews as usual. Just didn't have enough time to keep Burma-Shave (Johnny) on the back stuff, chat to people, drink and see the other cars! Had a ball crewing with Johnny over the 2 days and really got to appreciate how wondering the 356 is. As always we had the four seasons in the space of a few hours but that didn’t dampen our spirits. Thanks again to Rhona and Mike for the hospitality on Saturday night. Highlight was Johnny giving it large at the wonderful little Kames sprint circuit on Sunday morning (youtube post to follow). Here are some pictures with others at Culzean Autoclassica 2008

Huge thanks to Mike (and Rhona) from us for putting us up at Chez Burtwistle and feeding us so well during our stay - although it was a looooong round trip, George coped really well and we got back
around 15:30 yesterday afternoon.

It was good also to catch up with Brendan, James, Jo, Helen, Larry & Bob (Mike's neighbour who comes to the DDK weekends with him), as well as meet Johnny and we really look forward to our next trip North... but not to Culzean in a single day again!

Pictures to follow when I get time - that 356 of Johnny's was really sweet 8)
2006 RHD 997 Carrera (but DDK remains in my heart - also now no longer)

1994 RHD 993 Carrera - gone!
1968 LHD 911L - was the Wife's but now in new hands :-(

wow what a great week-end. Ditto to all above comments, Larry and i drove two cars up on thursday and discovered the B&B that Mr Burtwhistle(210bhp) had recommended was far better than expected. Jane and Mike who run it are so welcoming and Mike turned out to be not only a superb chef but also a old car enthusiast with a garage full of tools which proved useful as by the time we got there the 356s points a had all but closed up. did wonder why it had started loosing power

Larry and i were stupid anough to volenteer to help marshall the car park. but have to confess we actually rather enjoyed it. and it left the afternoons free to man the DDK stand. which attracted a lot of attention. as we unlocked our cars and lifted the engine lids, the men loved the 911RS amd the Ladys liked the 356. kids just loved what ever they were allowed to sit in.

as usual Larry could resist cleaning, he even did the wheels/tyres

Saturday was a much quieter day with half te other clubs no bothering to show up  But DDK managed a full stand.
