if it's the long plastic part then I have that thanks. It's this metal clamp that goes over the rubber and then the two lock tabs go on I may have to make one I guess.

This is the car that PMJT advertised for his mate back in early June.

Was wanting £11200 then.

Bit of a bargain at the mo - not sure about the sunroof being original though.

Yep, there is no metal clamp there. The rubber block shown sat on the bulkhead sits inside the large plastic cover, which then lays over the shaft & is held down by the tabs.

The only metal clamp is used further down, at the top of the second shaft (which attaches to the steering coupling)

Pretty sure it was Barry Curtis who was telling me that the roof was a fairly common post-production accessory offered by AFN when new.

So not a factory option, but more of an after market accessory I guess 8)

Yes, quite a common fitting on earlier cars, I had one on my 1969 911S.

Parked not too far from a certain 68S

Its Dave's car Mike

I knew that, I was just checking everybody else did

A roof like that is a memorable thing, brilliant opened up, practically a cabrio.

Go on somebody, buy it.

Regards, Mike

Bought by me!!
I have just posted in the New Members section but I thought I'd post on here as well.

This is my first Porsche and I didn't stop grinning for the entire 170 mile trip from Dave's house in North Yorkshire to mine in Essex. The car runs beautifully and only needs a little tidying to be truly stunning.

I'm really glad I got the car and I am looking forward to meeting you all as I have been lurking on the site for a while.
