bought a banham last year and it spent most of its time in the garage,
overheating and warping heads, went thru 3 before it supposedly had new engine.. but i doubt that very much, bunch of so called skoda specialists in Dagenham... anuvva story... neway, got it back without electronic ignition,still missing due to there being no side draught carb fitted as promised, but, the overheating prob fixed..
apparantly i have a rapid 130 engine and ancills, and a favourit top.
pfff, how the hell would i know.
managed to lose the hideous rear subframe bar, and reinforced it with something a little more subtle, so it actually looks like a real car from the rear.
trouble is, i still have no clearance above the weber carb for an air filter, so it makes tunin hard..
a new inlet manifold for side draught carb is the only answer, but apparantly thats gonna cost me 400 notes just for the manifold, not includin carb(s)??
only other way is to introduce some kind of scoop, but i really dont wanna do it...
i also have crappy plastic engine vent grills and need some replica 356 grills or 550 grills if available..
apart from the mechanical problem,
and the fact i have plastic vents badly rivetted to the back of my car,
i love it to death, for all the obvious reasons that anyone thats owned one or seen one will know.
marlow high street on regatta day is lucky to have my car in attendance!!
