Would love to see more pictures and maybe the finished product
2006 RHD 997 Carrera (but DDK remains in my heart - also now no longer)
1972 LHD 2.4T with '73 2.4T CIS motor - gone to a new DDK home
1994 RHD 993 Carrera - gone!
1968 LHD 911L - was the Wife's but now in new hands
Mark has more photos. I was up there two weeks ago, and have some stuff to bring him next thursday.
Right front wing has been repaired, right door repaired, left wing needed a piece installed, the left door was planned, and the rear bang (which I earned back in 1976 with throttle off oversteer) has been repaired.
I was promised photos, but to date, still waiting. Will give a gingle and see what is moving.
The car won't look like we knew it as.
Best

Are you staying the same colour?

Dom: I'm surprised how few layers of paint there are on the car (and how few colours). You so often see loads of layers (and sometimes colours).
I know my Gulf Blue one started off in Viper, then bronze, then Guards, and finally Guards again (badly). I then took the whole lot off, and did it in Gulf Blue .

Porsche Cars North America said the car left Karmann Werke in Polo Red.
The yellow was added in 1972. The guy doing the painting used no primer. Some bangs had been repaired with a blue bondo. The yellow stuck really well to the red, and the paint came off in fine powder.
The guy from whom I purchased the car used a hand held air brush to touch up stone chips on the hood, wings, and doors. These three areas had lots of yellow paint.
Aside from that, the car was pretty clean.
Mark promised more photos next week, and I am bring some more spares up to him on thursday. More later this week.
Best to all

It looks like you will be back on the road again for Spring, looking great!
Although I would like to think of myself as a reasonable Engineer, I have never been able to get bodywork right when I've tried it. I am really envious of people with the skill to bring these cars back to as new condition....
I guess you are champing at the bit now!
