1968 Porsche 911T (LHD) - SOLD

Post by shortchambers »

NOW SOLD!!!

1968 Porsche 911T (LHD)

This is a truly stunning early 911 that drives as good as it looks. If you’ve never driven one of these before you’ll be amazed at how comfortable it is to drive.

The car was imported from Germany in Oct 2005 and the majority of the restoration work was carried out by the Porsche specialist Autofarm and I have restoration receipts totaling over £13k of which over £7k was with Autofarm. The car has a 2.0litre flat six engine. The color is the original Polo Red and has a black interior which was re-trimmed in 2006. It has the original Fuchs wheels. It has the original radio although there is a CD player discretely hidden in the glove box. It has MOT until Feb 2008 and is Tax except. It is really cheap to insure under a classic car insurance policy.

This is a VERY reluctant sale and I really wish I could keep her; it is without doubt the best car I have ever owned…..

I’ll miss the grin it puts on my face every time I open my garage door.

I’ll miss accelerating onto motorways, under tunnels and through the countryside to the scream of the 2 litre flat-six.

And I’ll miss sitting in traffic, window down, in the sunshine, admiring its reflection in shop windows.

I’ll miss cleaning it for more times than anyone should really admit until it looked as good as the day it left Porsche back in Oct 1968.

I’ll miss the amazed look on the faces of all those Chavs from my rear view mirror as they attempt to race me at the lights.

I’ll miss those looks of admiration and comments from random strangers whenever I get out of the car.

(Sorry for nicking your words bahama68..too good not to use!!!)

Hopefully I’ll be lucky enough to experience it all again some day but for now Ill have to rely on those wonderful memories.

Remember this is a classic car and will hold its value provided it is looked after. Why waste your money a new car that will be worth half its value in 5 years time when you can own a true classic that won’t depreciate.

If you’ve done your research you’ll know that early Porsches had a tendency to rust quite a lot which is why you will find cheaper Porsches on the market. This is a solid rust free car so don’t be fooled by cheaper alternatives!

The car is worth £20k plus but I’m looking for a quick sale so I have priced the car accordingly. First to see it will definitely buy it.

It looks like a 69 model to me, not a 68.

According to my documents the car was made on 18/10/1968. I have a document from Porsche that confirms that the car was delivered to Mahag (German Dealer) on 21 Oct 1968.

Thanks

That makes it a '69 model :)

August '68 to August '69

We are just a bunch of pedants! Nice car by the way.

It's not pedancy, it makes a big difference, the 68 model was SWB, the 69 was LWB, plus loads of other differences.
