'Fraid I can'r recommend anyone, but I can share my experiences - if you are looking for a nice retrim in the style of the original then you shouldn't have too many problems - if you are particular about originality it is an absolute nightmare unless you have a completely stock interior already - getting correct patern headlining and carpet for example are very difficult. I had a lot of people send me photos of "stock" interiors from '57 type 1's and I swear no two were the same, so you have to make creative decisions. Companies like Tweeks supply good pattern parts. Good luck.

Here are some shots of my interior rebuild. Looks good so far, not quite sure how it would stack up against a complete original but it's correct down to measurements etc just done in fine grade connolly leather.

Can't wait to get it fitted.
Carpet is nice oatmeal squareweave which will be magnolia leather edged.

Just dropped my RS off at Southbound Motor Trimmers, Stockbridge nr Winchester for a full interior re-trim.

They do only Porsche, and when I asked the same question as you on DDK, 8 out of 10 owners said their cars preffered them.

Seriously, lots of recommendations.

Contact Dave Nunn, www.southboundtrimmers.com, years of experience and the finished product on cars I saw today looks superb.

Can give you an opinion of the finished product in 2 weeks

2 weeks ehh????

We'll see - in my experience trimers are murder for running past deadlines - like a couple of the local fellas - one of the cars had been in there 6 years - and still not complete!!! :P

Look at it as free garaging - a dry stored RS can surely only climb in value.

Seriously tho please post pics when complete

An old mate of mine is based or was based in South Wales, his names Mick frewer but I have lost contact with him, done some nice interiors in the past!

Might be worth asking on Volkszone to see if anyone has a current contact for him.

Auto's International in California are thought to be the best around, I've heard of people sending there seats etc to them from europe to get them re-trimmed. However they sell the seat covers in vinyl or leather along with all you need to rebuild the interior of the seat so you can pass them onto your local trimmer safe in the knowledge that the stiching etc will be correct.

thanks for all the responses, last time i checked had 0.....

How much should it cost for a retrim of front seats, door panels, rear seat pad and back....the original seats are not in great condition althought i have good spare hinges....original seat rails are all plated...

would the trimmer need to be a specialist who has done 356's before? or would a local quality tradesman be able to achieve results?

cheers
