Question?

Post by bluemonk »

A neighbour of mine is thinking of selling their 1970 911S.
Its a Left hooker U.S import and is white with a Targa top.
Sadly the car has been stood for 10 years one of which outside.
The car was in very good condition before the lay up but now has seized engine and brakes. There is rust in the usual places etc.
Has anyone any idea roughly what the value of this car is?
Many thanks,
Alan

It depends on the original facts of the car, you can see some 70 Ss selling for 40 k US dls and not even completed (restoring process). So I would say that it's hard to define a price of a car you haven't seen but as a market update if it's medium class it would be around the 22k according to Excelence Mag.

A LHD 2.2S Targa in fantastic restored condition might be worth £25K- £30K here in the UK but with and engine rebuild and body restoration you coul be looking at a £25K restoration. The value should be based on the scrap value IMO.

Thanks for the coments, I will pass this on to the owner.
In the mean time I will go and have a closer look at the car and hopefully get some images to post on here. It would be good to see her go to a good home.
Cheers :)
