Apparently some find Justin Bieber cool - but he's not really to my taste! :)

Stuart - I totally respect your colour choice - it's what you wanted - and if it's part of what makes you love your car then it's right for you.

I did want to get a wider opinion, that's why I started this thread (and it has been good fun reading the feedback!). My friends and family have all suggested different colours, so they were no help.

In summary: I tried to love Olive for 9 years but couldn't. I've seen a lot of early 911's of all colours and there is only one that I personally get excited about - and it's my car so....

Jon: you requested some pictures - I only have two of panels, uploading them now...

It's your car so I'm glad you didn't bow to the pressure & had it painted the colour you like.

I totally agree with Andy too - at the end of the day these cars look cool in any colour! Looking forward to seeing the finished car!

I'm guessing you've posted some pics of one of those modern Porsches being touched up after a scrape at Waitrose?

Where's the deep Olive shots?

Only joking.

Glad your made your choice

Booooooring! :bom:

Only kidding: if it is a quality job, the car will be a favourite photomodel in no time! Looking forward to the finished article!

As others have said its your car and you should finish it in what ever way makes you look back at it as you walk away after parking, or go to the window to look out at it on the drive. :)

Silver will look cool, will you put the "Porsche" side script on?

Cheers

You guys!!

Andy (the Guru) spoke and I listened. In fact I met Andy not long after buying the car when picking up some parts and we both said the same then.

Not sure about side script. I have decided that as it's such a quality paint, I'll splash out on a new dash rather than refurbishing my existing one. I'll sell the old one and donate all the proceeds to "10 for 10".

They let me watch - Excited schoolboy time.

Car in the booth being de-greased:

Paint going on:

Paint drying (yes I do like watching it):

Laquer going on:

One of the doors. The one on the left is having dust and other blemishes flattened out with 3000grit. Looks scary - but when it's finished it looks like the one on the right.

Should have her back by Friday.
