On Saturday I broke my car yet again! This time needed recovery from halfway to Stanford hall. Got home at 6.15 and by 9.15 the engine was out, head off revealing TWO broken valve springs but fortunately no piston damage. Getting very good at but very tired of dropping the engine and only 3 weeks until we're going to the 914 International in Bormio. Beginning to get nervous.

Fitted my newly polished red trumpet horns. I should have tested them before fitting, the short horn didn't work. Stripped, fixed and put back together.

Drove over to Gawsworth Hall in Cheshire to a nice little show . Nice variety of cars and lots of Porsches in attendance parked together in the PCGB 'compound '
I was instructed to park outside . ...

Did Parade laps at the Donington Historic....another great event and some very cool cars.

Had a great weekend, with some great cars being driven flat chat (not me, of course)....difficult to beat standing on the outside of the entry to Redgate watching the GT's, Sportscars and Touring cars drift on full power round into Hollywood...

We went to Donnington Classic today after a really good hillclimb weekend in the Lola, so a nice cruise.

Zipped down the M6 M42 at a steady 80 (ish of course), and cruised past a 993 and a 996. Felt like it would do it all day long. Warming to going to SPA this Sept in the car!

Quite a few 911's there, about 30 in all and parked with a v nice white 3 Litre RSR which looked very real but RHD. Anyway, the two cars got a lot of attention.

Came home in heavy traffic which felt nervey, but the car ran just great. Must change the driver's seat back to my Sparco hillclimb seat as it is far more comfortable.

Forgotten how a 911 is so light on the road and susceptible to cross winds.

About 30 mpg, not bad for a 3.2 with 130k on the engine. :)

No pics as I only had my FILM camera with me.

Got up early ( or should I say woken up early by my daughters  ) .... Took the opportunity for a 90 mile Italian tune up, to the Yorkshire TT route before the bikers were swarming over it . Hope I'm not tempting fate, but the car was running great and pulling like a train.

Strengthened my hatred of underseal....

Removed a broken clutch cable, 2 snapped heater cables and the heater control boxes - the red ones on the way to the passenger compartment.

Spend 2 hours removing underseal (which I hate) from tube guides and control boxes before the latter head off for blasting.

Must be about time for reassembly, but everytime I think that I find something new to dismantle...

Did I mention the underseal? Pft.
