Unfortunately an inspection showed the drive shaft rubbing on the new oil line:

Which has also split the drive shaft boot:

I tried to raise the pipes by fitting them above, rather than below the fixing stud, but clearance is still a problem. In addition, the hardline didn't really 'want' to move up and I feel a bit unhappy about stressing the connection to the diverter.

With the suspension on drop there's plenty of room between the drive-shaft and the pipes:

Of course, that's what you see when the car is on jacks, which is why I didn't spot the problem.
Put a jack under the strut and compress it and you can see the problem - this is without roll/bump.




It looks as if I'm going to have to replace the (std) 90 degree elbow with something that will come out and up, and fit a flexible pipe from there to the thermostat.
And although the car is not lizard belly low; I guess I could also get the ride height raised (a geo set is on the 'to do' list as the handling isn't balanced left to right at the moment).
