RHD Dash Trim

Hello,

I've decided to go full-anorak on the backdate and do the dash too. If anyone's got a set of dash trim (the panels the switchgear pokes through) they don't need, I'd be interested.

I think the chances of finding a set of original RHD dash trims is fairly remote these days.

I also think Marek Lappok (early911parts) is making new RHD sets as well as the LHD version.

Cheers Andy. I've been toying with the idea of making a set of fake ones myself - even found some ally tiling trim that has the necessary lip to tuck the vinyl under.

I'll track down Marek though. Maybe easier in the long run than faffing.

Send Marek an email (early911parts AT gmail dot com) - he definitely makes the LWB aluminium dash trim & I'm almost certain that he can supply the RHD version.

Ooh. Where did you get that from Nick ? Is that just painted MDF ? Reckon the metalwork needs to be satin black though.

Andy - will do ! Kinda liking Nick's 1943 Hawker Hurricane switchgear look now though. Not that I'm a fickle b*stard or anything like that.

Pretty sure Marek does have the LWB trim in RHD. Or did at least:

a small info on dash facia´s
well first up is I am working like hell to make a small home/ web shop page thng

2nd is I got a lot of dash´s comming
in all versions also in RHD !

65" wooden one ( on stock ) Eb-motorsport got them on stock as well
66" wooden one with the stainless trim ( september )
the 911/912 - year 66-68 ,brushed alloy trim ( on stock)

and a new one here 67-68 S dash facia, comes complete with the backing plate and alloy profil covered in basket or Elephant hide
I will also have the trim for the door and rear side tops , all cut into lenght , bright diped anodized

and off cause the 69-73 one

all in LHD or RHD

all can be custom made regarding the ashtray , cig lighter radio etc

If you change the switch gear to the early style then you will also need to either modify or change the steering column.

The earlier switches just don't fit the later column.

The next issue will be that the old switches will not interface with the later wiper motor so you will either need to change this or install a set of relays and a high current diode to make it all function.
