FS -correct, metal engine bay decals both SWB red & LWB

Post by Alan @ CanfordClassics »

Hi.

With a good friend of Canford Classics we have been working on producing correct metal engine bay decals. After market versions and even those from Porsche are incorrect and printed on different materials hence having different colours of stickers seen on engine bays.

Canford Classics are now close to having full correct sets for our early cars, printed on the correct metal material and all the same colour as it would have been originally. We have also gone to the extent of re-making the specific timing stickers as used on "US dept of H.E.W" "and to California". Specific I know but hey best to do it properly.

We are also working on producing the correct Red bordered stickers for all SWB cars. It is surprising the number of people that don't know this style was ever used. Again we are working on complete sets and have used originals on which to base the new ones. So far we have found two different versions. Any SWB car would look better with a correct set of these.

I will catalogue each soon. But for now here are some, and an initial example of the red bordered SWB decals.

Thanks

Will you be making 912 versions? Im looking for a set for my -65 912.

If not, does anyone know if the SC had the same decals as the 912?

They might be easier to find?

Hi,

We could make sets for the 912, but I would need a sample (originals or good pictures the least) for the -68 912s and also the 69 912. If you have any please email me at

alan@canfordclassics.co.uk

Thanks

Thanks Alan. My 69 car has never had any since I purchased it unfortunately, perhaps another 912'er on here could assist with pics or info of theirs?

Hi Alan, another 912 owner interested too :). Unfortunately, like Tim - my car also came without the original stickers. I'm sure there will be somebody on here though that will be able to help though...

Interested too, for my '69 912. Can't help obviously with what they look like as I haven't got mine!

Keep us updated if you do manage to produce them

cheers

I don't think 912s had engine bay stickers on the cross member, there certainly aren't any on the PET

Really? That could explain a lot  I was presuming mine had lost its stickers when it had been resprayed.
