UK Headlights..
Right, here's the first of many expected posts while I try and get my newly imported car UK road legal - please humour me! Having spent most of the last 4 years fixing metal, it'll be fun to have a car working on the road again but it obviously needs a few things sorting first..
So first off, can anyone recommend a good source for quality UK H4 Headlights?
Thanks.

Re: UK Headlights..
A 7" sealed beam headlamp unit for something such as the original mini will fit.
Not expensive - mine cost £25 I think.
Some lucas ones here, though you should get the version without side lights

The decision is - What Manufacturers Name & Location do you want to read on the Lens ?

Seeing that they are down most of the time, except when its dark of course, unless its a concourse car I'd imagine a 'normal' brand would be ok for most, but each to their own of course!

Unfortunately the car is at my father-in- laws so I can't check easily; but it's the flat lenses I want right?..not the domed or…?

Re: UK Headlights..
Mine are domed Ollie and I think the 1 original headlamp that came with my car was domed too.

Something else to consider -
The mounts are different early to late models - don`t ask me when things changed or what the differences are, I cannot remember

Re: UK Headlights..
Mine are Morris Minor / Mini Clubman 7" ones off fleabay. Made in Asia but 'E" marked. They are domed too and fitted no problem. Were £24 delivered for the pair. I think early Landrovers have the same units too e.g. Non-Pilot (without the sidelamps for the ones in the normal classic mini).

Re: UK Headlights..
Restored my headlight cradles last year and fitted CIBI's. I was more than happy with the result! I think all in the units were around £70 delivered - but I didn't trawl too hard, so may have paid over the odds.

Re: UK Headlights..
They are indeed things of beauty but I know the CIBI route is an expensive one compared to other options…

Re: UK Headlights..
Yes Ollie, I did see cheaper ones, but after drawing blanks on HELLA units (judging by the state of the ones I removed I can only assume they were original, with sidelight blanks) I stumbled on the CIBI's and it just seemed right - given that the race cars all wear the decals! Have yet to drive the car in the dark believe it or not, so I sometimes just pop them to remind myself how lovely and new they look!

Re: UK Headlights..
Wow they do look nice!
I'm going to need to change mine over from US to RHD beam, so watching this with interest.
What was/is the problem trying to find Hella lights?
Do they x-ref to early golf or polo?
