This car was originally manufactured as a RHD vehicle in Germany in December 1972 to a Hong Kong specification.

The vehicle was subsequently delivered to Hong Kong and sold on 1st January 1973. The model year of this vehicle is 1973 and it’s original colour was Chatereuse. The Interior of the vehicle was black leatherette with Pepita seat inlays.

The car was shipped back to the UK in 1999, by an owner returning from Hong Kong. It has changed hands once in the UK prior to myself purchasing the car while it was undergoing a refurbishment with Berny Tester at Stowmarket Transport Porsche Specialists in 2009.

I have owned the car for the last 10 years and have loved driving the Sporto gearbox. I know they may not be the gearbox of choice, but are becoming more of a rarirty.
The engine and gearbox were rebuilt in 2013 by Chris Turner, from Chris Turner Porsche. The Sportomatic gearbox changes smoothly, and the engine runs great.

The car does need some TLC / Restoration.

The car unfortunately failed an MOT due to corrosion in 2015, and hasn’t been used since. I have been running it periodically while meaning to get it restored, but have had other projects keeping me busy. I still have the possibility of restoring the car this year, but am placing the car up for sale to see if there would be interest from someone else to take on the project as is.

Areas that would need attention are the:

LHS/RHS Battery trays
Front Panel
Rear Floor Panel sections
LHS/RHS Rear Chassis Suspension tube areas.

I have been quoted £16k for this work to be carried out by a third party specialist, this includes including an 'glass out' respray with bead blasting.

I believe this car was the only Pre’73 RHD Chartreuse 911 Targa produced. Add to the that the fact it is a Sportomatic, should it be restored back to Chartreuse you’d be left with a unique example.

In Good Condition this car was valued at £110,000 by Porsche Club GB.

The mileage on the car in 1999 is believed to be a genuine 42k consistent with useage in Hong Kong. The car now has 53k miles on the odometer. It comes complete with replica Fuchs, a Momo Prototipo Steering wheel, and period Blaupunkt stereo.
A complete period Tool kit, and coco mats included.

The car has a service history dating back to mid-90’s including an Engine and Gearbox Rebuild in 2013 carried out by Chris Turner Porsche at a cost of £4394.23. Also a Major refurb carried out by Berny Tester at Stowmarket Transport at a cost of over £10k in 2010, and some bodywork carried out by Canford Classics in 2013 at a cost of £7k

As above:
Asking £64,950 ono

Reason for sale is both time and space, having moved to Cambridge. The car is located in Surrey.
