Tour de France support vehicle for sale

Post by decapman »

Really well not quite....but it could be
Selling another car to fund my Porsche hobby
Here is a 1984 Citroen CX Familiale
It has 9 seats and an amazing ride
98000 miles and a very good history
A 2.5 litre injection engine and full automatic
Terrific cheap smoker to bundle a large family or two ( or all your mates) on a cross channel jaunt
Sadly my family is small and even if I included all my mates we still wouldn't fill it.
This car is the desirable metal bumper model and there are probably less than a handful still on the road
Recent Mot.Very recent tyres, everything works.
Funky dash with the speedo a drum suspended in oil, single spoke steering with self centring steering
Hydraulic suspension which raises and lowers at the touch of a button
Described by Steve ( left for dead) like driving an old boat
Well he doesn't get it, these are thoughtful cars for engineering types who value innovative design and can forgive their quirky nature

The bad
It will need £350 of welding to chassis longeron as some knob at a tyre centre jacked it up at the wrong place
It has a 10ft respray, so looks OK but clearly not perfect
No significant rust issues
Haggle around £3750
These cars really are terrific to drive and this is a very fair example
Currently located at a Classic Citroen specialists where they have lifts and can offer advice. They could do the work to the longeron
