Hi Oliver
I dont think the US speck red lenses will get you through the MOT, unless your donor vehicle is pre 1962 (ish). Not sure about SVA/IVA either.
I know when I fitted my lights I used euro lenses, but, had to change the bulb holders round so that the stop/tail light was in the red section and the indicator was in the amber section. It was a real pain in the a£$e.
In hindsight I wish Id have gon for the older style round rear lights !!!!!

Its coming along slowley Ive managed to get all the parts to fit after a lot of work ,just finishing the rear engine boot after many calls to Mr Tanner I told him to send it in two parts so I could get it to fit the body properly, Ive also lined inside it in ally so u dont so the glass . Like you said you become an expert in fibre glassing .The( sill) issue got solved in the end by clamping stainless angle behind them & glassing them in & griding them to the door lines .The bulbs were from ebay but Halford sell them aswell .Im also going to fit a third brake light in the engine grill & the light is thin & clear & not red until lit.Thinking of puting in tiny clear LED side indecators hidden in the trim?Did u enjoy the snow?

My new 'euro spec lights' have the stop and tail behind the indicator lens and indicator behind the red lens. I can't see how i am going to swap them over as the housings seem to be part of the rear reflector.
I bought then from auto atlanta. As soon as i opened the box and saw made in taiwan on the side i knew i had a made a mistake. Could try a red lens and orange bulb i suppose...

My old one, ( I used it to practice on
)

see the bulbholder....had crimped edge, (bent back in the pic).
And in the reflector you can just see where the bulbholder sat and how it was crimped...
Put the holder in the correct place and bend the edge back over....I then smeared with silicon on the back to seal. My bulbholders were the same size.

Red rear lenses
I have a spare set of lenses.
you will need to keep the originals to get thro MOT/SVA though and if you use them make sure that the turn signal shows amber thro the lens or you might get an unwelcome visitor on your rear end..........if you see my drift!
