Was the shape just sanded out by hand as it all looks very even.

Great stuff.

Yesterday I got the 1302 drumbrake spindle and widefive rotor assemblend. Then mocked up the Polo mkII caliper. Fits perfect! The disc goes 5mm further inwards but still dont touch anything so this will work just fine! Next is to make some adapterparts for the calipers...

Been spending my past week playing around with CAD and designed some options for adapters/brackets for the calipers... :D

I will go for the 20 degree angled bracket.

Made a testbracket out of suitable hardboard according to the CAD drawing just to testfit and measure the position of the caliper vs. rotor.
The caliper sits perfectly. I recieved a measurement from a collegue who have a Polo M2/3 just to confirm the same measurement. He measured 17,5mm to the bracket surface and I have now 18mm. He said that I could take half a millimeter off his due to wear so my guestimation was pretty close anyways... :D

Thanks to the confirmation measurements I now ordered a pair of brackets in 10mm thick steelplates.

Aluminium drums on mcpherson spindles?

Image

Not really.. Just fake drums on widefive rotors. Luckily they fit perfectly over the calipers and all without modifying... :)

Yesterday I finally recieved the second pair of Mangels repros. These are 4,5 wide ones with altered offset from 25mm to I'd say about 35mm.. (the silvergrey one)

Here compared to a stock 4,5 Kronprintz to the right, and a 5,5 wide Mangels with offset 15mm to the left.
Far left is a Hebsterwerks 6,5 wide one with an offset of about 45-50mm..

Image

Today I let the anglegrinder loose on all the Mangels...
To the left is now the 5,5 wide ones with about 40mm offset instead of the standard 15mm and to the right the centers from the 4,5 wide ones that will be fitted into the 6,5 wide arches with an offset of about 45-50mm... ;)

Not much have happened here during summervacation...

Some parts I have managed to collect.. Such as a heavyduty swaybar for lowered mcpherson suspension that corrects the geometries.

Also found a Centermount fanshroud including alternatorstand..
