Photobucket account 3rd party linking help
Hi, I have been hit by the photobucket police who want me to upgrade my account to allow third party linking ie pics on this site but at $40/ month. So thats not going to happen.
Is there another free hosting site and a quick way to re-link the hundreds of pictures?
Really want to get this working again as its my only record of the build
cheers

Re: Photobucket account 3rd party linking help
Happy to pay that sort of cost but according to their website;
$5.99/ MO - Plus 50 offers 50GB of Storage and No Linking or 3rd Party Hosting
$9.99/ MO - Plus 100 offers 100GB of Storage, Unlimited Linking and No 3rd Party Hosting
$39.99/ MO - Plus 500 offers 500GB of Storage, Unlimited Linking and 3rd Party Hosting*
Would I only need the Plus 100 @ $9.99 for unlimited linking? still quite expensive

Re: Photobucket account 3rd party linking help
I'm using Flickr again (despite the sign-in procedure dumbfounding me).

Re: Photobucket account 3rd party linking help
I've used Flickr for ~12 yrs - never had any problems ... but I never use my phone for uploading pictures (or taking pictures 99% of the time).

Via computer: Flickr
Just need to learn how to cut'n'paste the photo URL correctly)
Via phone: Tapatalk app which hosts the photo for you.

Photobucket account 3rd party linking help
Flickr supplies a link which connects their own "viewer". You need to cut the URL that end .jpg from within the full URL they supply. Once you've done it once, you'll get it. However it's a pain to do via a phone I find so use Tapatalk in that case.
Edit: I'm talking cr4p. Flickr have changed their URL structure so you can't edit it to a direct link. So I'm out of date.
Edit2: yes! You can, just a pain via a phone.
Got to the sharing tab and the "bbcode"
From the full URL, select the bit that starts with "htt....farm6.staticflick" and ends with the dot jpg
Copy that into the image tags and you should be good. Hopefully!

Re: Photobucket account 3rd party linking help
Do you only get issues when you are close to or over your storage limit? My Photobucket seems to be working ok, just a bit slow.
