gathering race car history
Hi guys,
I'm trying to gather some history about my car. It is an ex race car from the Pirelli series. Does anyone have any suggestions where to acquire information about this series? Also any information about Circuit Driver magazine? I'm also trying to get in contact with the previous owner, a racing driver named Paul Edwards.
Any help would be much appreciated.
thanks
Paul

Re: gathering race car history
Paul Edwards runs a trade only Porsche parts business in south London, drop me a PM and I will give you his details. For history on the car, try Steve Kevlin at PCGB, he has been involved on the motorsport side for many years

Thanks guys - yes that's my car when it was blue and won the Giroflex. Before that I have 2 photos of it being white as a Pirelli car. Nick I'll send you a PM thanks for your help.

Re: gathering race car history
I can tell you that Paul Edwards was first in class C in a 2.3 (?) 911E in 1985, first in 1986 in a 2.4 911T in Class D, first in Class B in 1987 in a 911S. I think he raced in 88 in an SC PPB 4449W (101) but the 'Official guide' is unclear. He was listed in 1989 in Class C with an SC as well, race no 203.
So..... if you can give me a reg no I'll see if it figures in any pics, or the videos I'm currently converting to dvd's.

HI Mick,
Just a suggestion and not sure how much they work out at each. But if reasonable enough could be a runner for 10k for 10 years?
edit - u probably had this in mind anyway

Re: gathering race car history
Hi guys
My car (Paul Edwards' car) is reg number JWV529N
I think it was originally an E but this isn't verified.
It is original a 1973 longnose but at some point was forwarddated to IB so perhaps it could have been listed as an SC.
Anything you can find about it would be MASSIVELY appreciated!!
thanks

Re: gathering race car history
They're not my videos, Derek, and I'm sure there'd be copyright issues if I started 'selling' copies, so I think it best to just use them for specific requests.72911E wrote:
