Re: Off topic watch chat for the horologists out there

Moving on from the Panerai size shock. Whilst I was in the jewellers, I started to look at the Tudor range, in particular the Black Bay 58. I’ve never really considered a Tudor, but was impressed by the quality. I now find they do a bronze version which I’ve seen on the web. I’m not sure which stock...

Re: Off topic watch chat for the horologists out there

Maybe if I’d been wearing a bigger watch instead of a 36mm, it wouldn’t have been such a shock. It certainly looked very well made, the case finish was very nice.

Re: Off topic watch chat for the horologists out there

I went to see the watch this afternoon. As soon as I saw it, I knew it was way too big for my wrist. It’s the biggest watch I’ve ever tried on.

Re: Off topic watch chat for the horologists out there

Thanks for your posts guys. That’s a very interesting article Jason, I knew a little about the movements, but didn’t realise it had had such a detrimental effect on their overall reputation.
I’ll still go for a look to test the size, but need I need to give this more thought.

Re: Off topic watch chat for the horologists out there

Do any of you have a view on Panerai. The more I see them, the more they grow on me. They are big, so I’m not sure my wrist is big enough. I’m going to see a 44mm Luminor Marina tomorrow, just to check the size. They do various sizes, but the shop only has the 44mm in stock.

Re: 1989 Carrera 3.2 Sport, 53,600 miles, £70,000 ono

Hi Mike, the best place to look is on the car website 1989carrera.com. It tells the story of the car from me buying it, to recent use, or should that be lack of it. Only 132 miles between the last two MOTs and only 80 the year before that.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

I only tried diesels briefly, they could bite your finger on startup.

Re: Show us your 'garage'

What a fantastic idea. I use the same storage boxes, but usually have to shuffle them to get to the right one.

Targa Rear Window Fitting

A friend of mine has had his 72 Targa restored. He’s currently in the process of putting it back together. He’s asked me to post this on his behalf. His local car window specialist has declined to fit the rear window, as they didn’t remove it. So the question is - Does anyone know a trusted fitter t...
