That's a big help, thanks! It's on the road already, just doing bits and pieces here and there as the resto progresses... I've been taking in a few good runs (especially on weekends as nice as the one we just had) to get the new braking system bedding in and the car just seems to feel better and bet...

Fuchs Tyre help

I've just got a set of 15 x 6 Fuchs to replace my shabby steels and am looking for some advice on tyres. I've searched through the forums but can't seem to find an answer! Let me know what a good tyre size to use is. Also, where is best to get a nice set of polished wheel nuts? Somewhere in the US? ...

Replacement seat covers, 68 912

My seat covers have pretty much had it and I'm looking for any advice re where to source some more... I've seen a few advertised on ebay.com that appear to have the correct "basket weave" inserts but I'm wondering if any are available in the UK and what sort of quality they are or how clos...

Definitely still up for this.

Have finally now been able to replace all 4 calipers with reconditioned units, new pads and discs so could do with a good run!

This happens to mine as well, they both work exactly as they should from the outside but on the dash, both light up.

Again, something to look at on a rainy day...

911/912 headrests

A long shot I know, but I'm after a set of headrests for my 912. It has the headrests that slot into the top of the seats rather then the earlier 356 styles ones that have clamps on the back of the seat.

Anything considered,

Thanks

My mistake, looking closer at the history it was the thousands in bills from Roger Bray that made me think that! The rebuild was someone else entirely...

Either way, the engine certainly runs very well.

New owner, very happy

After lurking for a while and looking at a fair few 911s and 912s I finally picked up my Ivory white 68 last Thursday. http://www.barendbmx.co.uk/porsche/912_1.jpg http://www.barendbmx.co.uk/porsche/912_2.jpg She's a bit scruffy and the previous owner having spent a fortune having the engine rebuilt...

Thanks again to all the people who've given great advice. I've invested in a few books and have lined up a couple more cars to hopefully see this week.

Thanks again,

Mark

Thanks again for all the advice. I'm also a bit worried about what rust you can't see...I've had an MGB and a Volvo P1800 that were both much rustier than what was on the surface. The door hinge I noticed but it's just missing paint around the hinge, possiblw from when it was put back on after work ...

Thanks a lot for the advice so far, The car is advertised at 10K and I toyed with offering 8.5K to reflect how solid it was underneath and complete inside. I realistically saw myself having to replace a wing and a door as well as the front slam panel to start with and then taking care of cosmetic th...

1970 911T Buying advice

My first post here, but I've been lurking for a while! I went to see a 1970 911T this past weekend and wanted a second opinion on some of the issues. To give a bit of background, it's ex-Italy but has been in the UK nearly 10 years and has been well maintained with £3000 recently spent on sills, flo...
