Re: LED dash/gauge lights

This looks like a great upgrade! :bounce: Can I just confirm before I order - how many back-lighting bulbs do we need in total for the 5 gauges please? I think there might be a dimming knob - does that still work the same with the LEDs? Thank you all for the tips! :blackeye: Deano, I've fitted inte...

Re: 996 Turbos

Big question to ask then is …. Does she want a 996 turbo ? They’re not exactly luxury cars or expensive feeling cars inside. Very true, I’m hoping to get a feel for a tip tronic turbo next week. The manual cab is a no go. I spoke with a PPI company that had already seen the car and advised that it ...

Re: 996 Turbos

All fantastic help, even Sams comment about throwing a sausage down the Dartford Tunnel made me giggle. If truth be told, I’ve got an expensive m6 cabriolet, that whilst an amazing car for me, is something that is un-drivable by the wife- she’s p*ssed that I’m the only one that drives nice cars, so ...

Re: Off topic watch chat for the horologists out there

I'm still looking for my next proper watch. Mind you I've only had one previous nice watch, a breitling. I moved it on when I couldn't read it! I've been eyeing up Rolexes on the watch collecting auction site (love it it hate it?). I like the GMT pepsi or the Daytonas. I just have no idea what they...

Re: My riviera blue 1994 993 C2

You’d be surprised. There’s plenty of love for all things porsche. I’ve got a 356 ( classic ) with yellow wheels,( not so classic ) I like it, so you know, that’s all that counts. A resto thread on a 996 would be good to see and great to learn from.

All the best,

Joe

Re: Off topic watch chat for the horologists out there

Wot he said innit 👆👆. 😬 Completely agree with you Jason. More stability in the vintage pieces, but you have to admit they’ve also increased with / along side the ‘premium’ sports watches… a bit like Porsche, one’s an RS sells for mega money, prices of the S rises in ratio, and so too does the T and ...

Given your attention to detail, I’d e very interested in seeing your E and where you’re up to with the 996.

Love the 993 - a really great example

Re: Off topic watch chat for the horologists out there

It’s been like that since the pandemic really. And before that for sports watches, probably for the last 6 or more years. Sometimes in the old days, you’d get lucky. I rocked up to the Rolex dealer In Knokke, Belgium and managed to get a James Cameron, no relationship etc, but now..... I was talking...

Re: Off topic watch chat for the horologists out there

I’m a Rolex man, honestly, buying now, unless it’s a grail piece like the ones Jason is letting go, I think it’s a wait and see.. prices are softening, production is increasing… although the new Rolex second hand policy won’t help.. IMO. Would love to get my hands on a GMT rootbeer. Just love it, bu...

996 Turbos

Hi guys, first time posting in this section ! - I’m looking at a 996 Turbo cabriolet, manual to buy. I’ve had old Porsche before, but know very little about the 996 Turbo. I know on the standard 996 you have to worry about the IMS, but the turbo has a different engine and I understand that means no ...

Re: New Car Woes - 1...Update

Cheers Jason, thanks for the clarifications - and I hope my post was / is taken in the spirit it was meant. I feel dreadfully sorry for you personally. Not a nice position to be in and one I would dread to be in myself. As many a poster has said, once it is behind you and you’ve had a few thousand (...

Re: New Car Woes - 1...Update

just to balance the bashing and probably an unpopular personal opinion: from what I read, the previous owner made a decision to go down the bodge route correct? - presumably CC followed the explicit wishes of their client at the time and charged accordingly? if the poor quality repair was not identi...
