Re: The cost of filling up your car ...

£21 to do 100 miles, with petrol being £1.6 /litre is 29mpg.

Re: Has ebay uk market place changed ?

i've never used facebook marletplace as always assumed it was a hotbed of fakes and charletons Yes know your demographic too. Over 35 year olds use facebook and facebook marketplace is aimed at a region, its local. Like Craigslist, Gumtree etc so you are selling or buying to people who could drive ...

Re: EV conversions and DVLA

. I'd be a keen supporter of road tax being based on weight if it was introduced here ... . This is to me the most logical as having a set of scales at an MOT station is not the most expensive bit of kit to buy. This also tempers the trend towards ever bigger, heavier cars as there is no cei...

Re: EV conversions and DVLA

Perhaps I've missed a bit, but I assume that the DVLA and those that make the rules they enforce, essentially don't want a load of cack handed electric conversions target than actually being concerned over a hole being drilled? Most countries are pushing EVs because they want lower CO2 emissions. B...

Re: EV conversions and DVLA

In reality, messing with cars the way we do will ultimately go into decline – younger generations are simply not so interested. DVLA could sit back and wait for the whole ICE car mod thing to effectively fizzle out - but EV conversions, that's hot news... I wouldn't be so pessimistic, EVs are great...

Re: EV conversions and DVLA

Here in Finland we are going the other way. They are relaxing the Rules, as long as the weight balance is not effected you are ok. In New Zealand they have a reasonable balance. The car has to be certified and you get a plate with the mods on the firewall. So modifying a car that has been inspected ...

Re: Brakes overheating in the Pennines!

Do you know that the brakes overheated? Having the ABS light come on after you have toasted the brakes can happen. But this is to tell you that there is no ABS. I would be looking at your tires rather than in the brakes. Having ECO tires that are low rolling resistance makes great mpg but are slipp...

Re: my non-Porsche picture of the day

Can I just say good luck for any company waiting for the supply chain to stabilise with 10% plus inflation. Yeah, 4 years now of "next year" and I have given up. If they told me they are only making 20 cars a year and they are £100,000 more. Then so be it. Take a ticket. But I think there...

Re: my non-Porsche picture of the day

In a high street near me earlier this year. The old market town of Bridgnorth closes once a year for an Italian Supercar Day, and this V6 rumbled in for a coffee. https://i.postimg.cc/TY8YQPrY/IMG-1786.jpg Apparently the Toyota 3.5 V6 ListerBell sounds better than the Alfa Busso which might have so...

Re: 904 bargain of the year

:bom: From what I understand with the 904, hopefully someone could correct me, was that the 904 much like the 718 before it was built for the weakness in the technology of the time. So whilst the larger more powerful cars it was racing against would consume more fuel/tires/brakes and break due to me...

Re: The shite ownership cycle

I've no specific complaints about the people doing the work as they are all good people and there are circumstances that always seems to mean it takes ages. I accept all that, I just wanted to have a late night rant that there's always something that seems to be in the way of the fun driving part! ...

Re: Tuthill 911k

Weird how Porsche 911s have become Lamborghini?
Skittles colours as everyone has the same car and the same wheel combination.
Only driven to Car meets by men with jewellery - an expensive mechanical watch instead of a gold chain.
An intimate relationship with a mechanic that dictates where you live.
