Re: 914 International in Wales
Gutted I missed this - first year of 914 ownership after first driving one almost 40 years ago. But family commitments took priority. Colorado in a hire car is a bearable alternative.

Re: Gauge seal for clock
Pretty sure I've got a spare seal but hard to tell in advance how grippy it will be...
Have you tried a length of electrical tape around some part of the clock body to effectively make it a bit bigger in diameter so that the seal is a better interference fit?

Re: Anyone waiting for UK registration on an imported vehicl
Happy days here - V5 came through the letter box this morning. Paperwork received by the DVLA on Monday 23 Aug; V5 received by me on Weds 29 Sept. So just over 5 weeks. And in case it helps anyone here are the fields I filled on on the V55/5: 1. State country where vehicle purchased from 2. Tax clas...

Re: Anyone waiting for UK registration on an imported vehicl
Today’s update states they’re working on the applications for first registrations of used/imported vehicles received on 25 Aug so 12 days of progress in one week - encouraging news.

Re: Trying to find VRN for a Porsche project I'm looking to
Wonder what would happen if you went to an OPC, tried to order a part for the car by giving the VIN and then casually asking if they have a VRN listed?

Re: Anyone waiting for UK registration on an imported vehicl
By way of an interim update... Forgot to include in the list above that I included a copy of my driver's license as proof of address/ID. And as of yesterday the DVLA sez (https://www.gov.uk/guidance/dvla-coronavirus-covid-19-update#processing-dates-for-paper-applications) they're processing applicat...

Re: Anyone waiting for UK registration on an imported vehicl
Just to update this thread with another set of data points… My 914 arrived in Soton on Monday 2 August. I was able to collect in Soton on Wednesday 11 August. For some reason ShipMyCar took the original title to Milton Keynes so it took another week for it to arrive at mine. On Thursday 19 August I ...

Re: Alternative seat suggestions
I've got the 914 GT seats with 914 headrests in my rally car from Mark at Rennsport Classics. He only sells them in pairs but I have a customer who wants one only for his early car. Perhaps we can buy a pair between us? They bolt straight in, look great, feel great. Let me know if you want a decent...

Thanks; will probably take you up on that. Shared container with my car has arrived in Soton and has been unloaded from the ship but not yet cleared customs.

screen wash bottle solution
I have a 73 914 inbound from the US :bounce: :bounce: and one of the tasks that will need doing is the fitting of a screen wash bottle. It looks like the bottle was removed and never reinstalled. Screenshot 2021-08-01 at 18.13.19-3.jpg I do plan to convert to an electric pump by installing a switch ...

Re: Project Blue Book
Thank you so much for your kind words and investing so much time reading here and over on my main thread. As for tin bashing, you just keep going until you have it just so. I never worry about time as it’s just a hobby. Once in that frame of mind you can be free to get it how you want it. The engin...
