I also have a resto thread going for the 914 with some pics.
As for finding the cars, a good friend of mine does house clearance and he put me onto the cars, there were a number of other cars at the site, including a 1958 Roller.

914 2.0l barn find

Came across the 914 in the same place as the 911, with 17k on the clock the car is in great condition although does need paintwork, underneath is fantastic and even the "hell hole" behind the battery is ok. With fresh petrol, plugs, points and condensor she fired up and drives but some wor...

911e sporto barn find

Ok here goes, recently came across a 73 911e sporto that had been stored in a long narrow stable converted into a garage. The car had a stable mate in the form of a 73 914 2.0l , couldnt see them parted so did a deal on both cars. The 911 is generally in good condition and has a believable 20k on th...

Hi Timo,
Both cars are one owner from new, a mate of mine does house clearance and put me on to the cars. The owner had passed away and these were part of the estate, there was also a 1958 Roller an eary 50's beetle and a 1990 mx5. It was a real aladins cave.

Barn find 911 and 914

Hi all, Recently purchased a 73 911e sporto and a 73 914 2.0l, neither of the cars have been on the road for well over 20 years but have been dry (ish) stored. The 911 has 20k on the clock but seems to have problems with the sporto box, the 914 has 17k on the clock and is now up and running after ne...
