Re: Beverley Hills Car Club

You get what you pay for. I’ve seen £1,000,000 restorations that have cost tens of thousands to get right and Beverley Hills is selling old heaps. Until you’ve bought old cars and experienced all the problems, you don’t realise what you’re letting yourself in for, but it’s better if you can do most ...

Re: Distributor refurbishment

Seems a pity not to use it and it probably just needs a new PCB. The Bosch distributors are extremely good, better than Lucas IMO, but we’ve all got used to modern cars and no longer accept the maintenance they need. Also some wear such as the cam that opens the points isn’t easily fixed and the cor...

Re: Distributor refurbishment

Usually open circuit plug leads are the cause of failure, so if you fit electronic ignition, fit new plug leads too

Re: Your Porsche pic of the day......

Lovely. Took the wife to Portmeirion on Thursday in the 987.2, what a nice day Ina very nice car. New rear tyres on Friday, last set a stunning 20k Miles. Obviously need to drive a bit more 'hoooligan' What Boxsters are all about. They’re the nicest car I’ve driven, but I’m ashamed to say a set of ...

Re: Zenith carburettor rebuild ?

I doubt bushes are needed for Zeniths because the throttle bodies are cast iron. Ultrasonic cleaners are cheap and all the parts are available, new spindles and butterflies too. I’d rebuild them yourself carefully following instructions in one of the books.

Re: Getting a car that isn't a 911

I’m amazed no one prefers a Boxster to a Cayman. For me roof down is a must. I have a 981S which is superb if underpowered after my 718 and I have an AMG C300 Cabriolet which is faster most of the time, a terrific drive and gets used more because of the extra seats. The 981 is special and I love it,...
