Not quite sure what you mean by 'standard' nuts.

If you mean are the lugnuts for Fuchs wheels the same as those for steel wheels the answer is no.

Steel wheels use steel nuts whereas Fuchs usually use alloy lugnuts.

You can buy 'em new from all the usual outlets or check ebay as there's nearly always a set for sale :

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 2462397390

& you'll need 20 not 16 (unless you're going to fit locking nuts or have 4 already).

Yes, the spokes should be satin black.

As for fitting a 914 wheel on a 911/912 it's not a straight fit but it's fairly easy to carry out the necessary modification. Email me if you're interested(lightweight_911@hotmail.com) & I'll give you the low-down.

Miggs - there were 2 different versions of the Factory woodrim wheel fitted to early 911's & 912's : The original version had black painted aluminium spokes/spine & is much rarer & consequently worth much more money ! The later version (introduced around mid-'65) had steel spokes which w...

H4 lenses are completely different to H1 lenses & will not allow the lights to work correctly or the beams to focus properly. You can try shoppping around the usual Porsche parts outlets to see if anyone has some but the only person I know who usually has RHD H1 lenses is Peter Andrews at Transe...

I've posted this on Pelican before but I've painted the outside of the glass on the headlamps with yellow glass paint (available from hobby shops for >£2). Cheap alternative to buying yellow lenses (I've got contact details somewhere that I'll dig out for you Nick) & less hassle when you want to...

It shouldn't make any difference where your car was originally exported to - you should be able to get details of your car's original build specification from Porsche Cars GB in Reading. The last contact I had there was Kathryn Josif (Tel: 0118 930 3666). Information provided includes : Legal Specif...

H1's have 2 separate bulbs & reflectors (one each for dip & main beam) which can be independently adjusted whereas H4's have single reflectors & bulbs. H1's are no longer available new (although I have had a few NOS in recent months) & are more difficult to find in RHD form (although...
