Re: Older car not allowed in London?

I think you're right, Paris has a vehicle age restriction in the centre zone for pre 1997. I had this discussion with a friend who was planning a euro tour on his old triumph although I believe they are now allowing private 30+ vehicles in. I sure London will eventually introduce similar ever tighte...

Re: Seam sealer in drip channel?

Hi Magnus You should be able to get it from any good bodyshop consumable supplier. Try it out on flat bit of metal or plastic to get the feel of it as it doesn't behave as you would initially think. It will take a few minutes to flow out and several hours to shrink back, don't make the bead too thic...

Re: Seam sealer in drip channel?

Hi I have always used 3M Heavy Drip-ChekTM Sealer 08531 for roof seams. It has amazing flow into gaps and then shrinks when dry forming a very original looking durable seal. Comes in toothpaste like tubes. 1 tube should do a roof. PUR sealant works but is messy and if not cleaned off throughly, the ...

Re: North West 200 Road Races - Live stream

Sad indeed!

Off to the TT in a couple of weeks for more of the same. Nothing quite like octane fuelled fun in the sun (assuming the weather is good!) 8)

Re: '73 - 911 LHD - Wind Noise from Drivers side

Hi Simon Wind noise is a troublesome and sometimes difficult thing to diagnose. It can be caused by the smallest miss alignment or gap in a weather seal. Door mirrors if not seated correctly can also whistle. Try masking up all the door aperture gaps and window seals from the outside. Also mask the ...

Re: Engine lid quandary

Hi Stefan

The 1970E Targa I have has steel fitted and am pretty sure it was the original as colour under all the latter paint jobs was the original factory supplied.

Re: Spraying:next step up from rattle cans?

If you want to go down the home spraying route and want to keep cost of equipment to a minimum I would stick with the Cellulose (1K) route. Also the cleaning of spray guns after using 2K products (separate hardener) has to be thorough as once it sets it can be a devil to get of with out the proper c...

Great post. Let the battle commence! Have just finished a 1970 Targa shell In similar condition but not quite as bad. Ours took 1500 hour to bring it to paint stage!

Re: Stone chip protection on sills? 1970 911E Targa

Thanks Darren I've messaged Richard and hope he can help. Nice Job indeed! If I knew how to add pictures to this post I would post some of this project? This has been a very long and in depth restoration which thankfully, after nearly 1500 hours work has reached the paintshop. Richards pictures show...

Stone chip protection on sills? 1970 911E Targa

Hi I am just getting to the end of a very long and painful body restoration of a 1970 911E Targa and was wondering if anyone could help? Does anyone know if the sills, and lower edge of front wing were originally stone chipped half way up from the bottom? I have seen many variations but would like t...

Hi everyone!

After spending the last few years working/restoring other peoples 911's I've finally taken the plunge and invested in a project of my own.. A bit backward I know. Now the (I think) proud owner of a very sad looking RHD 1971 911T coupe. Lots of work to do and lots of parts needed. Let the work begin!...
