Yea.. problem is that grommet ,if there is one ,is up behind the extra bracing in a Targa (referred to as a Gusset plate in PET).
Access is particularly poor especially with the heater tubes passing through.
Looks like I'll have to disconnect the tube to get any access at all. PITA.

Re: Interior light door switch
Problem is, as this is a Targa, there is additional bracing layer with minimal access in the footwell where the heater pipe passes through.
Getting a borescope so hope to be able see things a bit better and check where the wire is supposed to go.

Interior light door switch
Hi Guys I've just had my '73 Targa Dinitroled and found that the interior light had stopped functioning on opening the drivers door. Suspected the door switch which the bodyshop had taken out to complete the rustproofing. I checked the ground wire that comes from the switch only to find it in the fo...

Come to think about it, my car is there right now and you would be able to see the new green shroud in situ that Redtek do.

Re: Green Engine Shroud
Hi Tom
I've got one that is at George Morrisons.
It came from my car which I thought wan't too bad but Nick Fulljames likes to replace them when he does a full rebuild.
Have a look if you are passing.
Cheers

Centre Tunnel Cover
Hi Guys
Can anyone tell me the correct finish for the gear shift linkage cover in the centre tunnel on a 1973 911 Targa.
Is it painted satin black, covered with carpet material or just covered over by the carpet itself?
Thanks
Duncan

Re: Over sills
Thanks Nick..
That's what I thought.
I take it the end pieces are pop riveted on however.
This isn't obvious on PET.

Over sills
Hi Guys
I'm about to fit new over sills to my 1973 911E.
The ones I removed were pop riveted to the existing sills but I notice in the PET diagram that it suggests self tappers
should be used.
Is this correct and if so what size.
Cheers
