Re: Race Retro?

I like it, as it seems to provide a good combination of 'enthusiasts in a field' vibe, great cars of historical significance being driven and enjoyed in anger (spotter's heaven), plus a broad selection of static displays and indoor attractions for those who prefer super-unleaded on their cornflakes ...

Re: Chris Flavell ...

So sad to hear this news. Used to love discussing early 911's and related engineering challenges with him, sometimes in agreement, sometimes not, but always welcome and to a level that is rare within the industry. Visits to this most chaotic of workshops will always be memorable, in a good way. As s...

Re: Door Seal Recommendations

Hi Ollie, As per Rob's comment, general consensus is that the flap type, although indeed 'period correct' for an early car, are no good at keeping the wind out. I've tried them before and never got on well with them. They can be improved with a lot of attention to the adjustment of the window frame ...

Re: Installing a gear knob

Happy New Year Gitesh. The crush sleeves need to be new each time (beacause they crush on installation), and I've found that they're only really able to secure a NOS or tidy used OE knob. There are many 2nd hand knobs in circulation that tend to have a worn bore (so insufficient clamp load for the s...

Re: Parts Advice

Good point, Dougieboy. Update: Just picked up the hose that Porsche are now supplying for this part, and it turns out that 901.201.931.00 has been superceeded by 964.201.153.00, which looks and feels to me like a 650mm length of plain black non-reinforced PVC fuel-grade tubing 15mm ID, 19mm OD, 2mm ...
